New StartUp ‘Wysps’ gets media spotlight including live interview on ABC News 24

IntoIT’s own Carsten Eckelmann hit the media trail with new StartUp Project ‘Wysps’ appearing on both local ABC South East Radio, and subsequently a live appearance on ABC News 24. The ‘Wysps’ initiative seeks to popularise and promote a low cost way to deal with Internet Black Spots in Regional Areas.

More than 50 visitors from outside the shire highlight ‘Skilled SeaChanger’ appealcropped-surfer-with-fade.png

It is heartening that over 50 people from cites and towns right across NSW and the ACT look set to visit the Bega Valley to participate in Regional Innovation Week. Whether it’s for a fun weekend Bush-hack (see www.hackagong.com/bega/) or to build collaborative links with technologists in our region, the appeal of Innovation Week to external visitors is clear.

Dont’ miss our Grand Finale – Launching 10 exciting ventures at the Uni

It’s ultimately what Regional Innovation week is all about…launching new ventures which it is hoped will go on to boost skills and jobs for our region.
Meet the founders and hear their pitch to the market – Crowd Carnivore, Roofit Online, Wysps, to name but a few. For full details of the event, click here
The winners of the Weekend StartUp Camp will be invited to perform their winning pitch at this event.
As a grand finale there is surely no better way to finish up our week of celebrating innovation.

Citizen Science BioFoundry ‘bio-hacker’ Meow Meow to set the pace at Hackagong Bega. And BuzzyTV duo Byron and Andrew bringing some awesome gaming

IntoIT events are well-known for introducing some great characters to our community in recent years. It’s exciting see new thinking emerge around empowering ordinary citizens to discover science for themselves. Meow-Ludo Meow-Meow is at the frontline of this movement in Australia, and is attending Hackagong Bega to connect with others who may wish to hear more about this topic.
More about Meow-Meow here.
And Wollongong’s BuzzyTV team Byron and Andrew Papanikolaou will join the action too and to demonstrate their TV gaming platform in situ at Hackagong Bega. More on Buzzy TV here

Fog Creek Software’s finest, James Hebden joins the Future of Code, and our Chef In Residence, Dave Arens, advises the delicious lunchtime menu

The Future of Code event will be blessed by both coding and culinary talent – James Hebden, a recently-moved Skilled SeaChanger will share stories about his life working for the makers of Trello, one of the world’s most well-known software brands, and Dave Arens,  a highly regarded local chef will cook a fabulous meal for all attendees.
