Eventbrite - Gamer Dev Jam in the Bega Valley : Weekend of Sept 10th and 11th 2016 (Far South Coast NSW)

Our event is a multi-skill game development gathering. We are seeking to attract a range of talented creative people, and we expect to emerge with at the end of the weekend with a number of functioning games (albeit in their early development stages)  :-

  • Story-writers
  • Coders
  • Musicians
  • Graphic Artists
  • Testers (Gamers)
  • Entrepreneurs

This event is BYO Computer or development hardware.  We will supply some equipment but we can not guarantee enough for all parties.

NOTE – the final format for the programme will be announced closer to event commencement.

Supporters and attendees include :-

  • The Loaded Gamer (www.theloadedgamer.com) team – they run an online magazine connected to the gaming industry
  • Indie development houses Buzzy TV and Siege Sloth (http://www.siegesloth.com/ ), as well as a number of talented game developers led by Brennan Hatton who spent a several years developing for Meta in San Francisco
  • South East Arts (southeastarts.org.au) – a key theme for their 2016/17 strategy is art on screen, of which gaming is deemed a major element
  • Analogue Synthesiser specialist Abre Ojos (http://abreojos.net) providing instruction in electronic music creation

Fun Things to do (planned and spontaneous) :-

    • Come and play with the Nao Robot on a visit from the University of Canberra
    • And in a special treat for musos 5 Abletron ‘Push’ electronic music consoles will be available to attendees for music creation. Scott Baker from the Bega Valley Library will be providing fast-track tutorials on making music tracks for games
    • Virtual Reality demonstration system, the popular HTC Vive, as seen recently at CoWS Near The Coast. Check out this Youtube video :-
